CERA Weaire BEM, 1917 - 1970

CERA Weaire’s son Allan has donated his father’s medals to the RNEBS and has also generously provided sponsorship to ‘Artificer150’ in his name.
​
Dennis Weaire joined the RN as an Acting ERA 4th Class in December 1938. He was a Direct Entry from industry and a time served Detail Fitter & Erector. Amongst other ships he served in the Dreadnought Battleship IRON DUKE, the Battleship NELSON and the Light Carrier WARRIOR and passed professionally for CERA in September 1944. In 1954 he was awarded the British Empire Medal (military Division) for “Outstanding skill, and devotion to duty whilst serving in (the Frigate) HMS MODESTE in operation in Korean waters”. He left the RN after 22 years service in December 1960.
